Fundamentals
Who this is for
Admins, security teams, auditors, and developers who need Owlie’s core vocabulary.
Goal
Understand Owlie’s core objects and how the platform models identity governance.
Prereqs
- None
Success criteria
You can explain the core objects and how they relate in Owlie.
Core concepts
- Identities and accounts are separate. Identities represent people; accounts represent external system profiles.
- Entitlements represent permissions in external systems. Roles control access inside Owlie.
- Requests and tickets are the workflow backbone for approvals and fulfillment.
Dashboards and URLs
- End User Dashboard (EUD): / for end‑user requests and tickets
- Admin Dashboard: /admin for configuration, approvals, and reporting
Example
If a user requests GitHub access, the request is created in EUD, approvals are tracked as tickets, and fulfillment is processed through the Admin Dashboard.
Troubleshooting
- If terms feel inconsistent across pages, start with /fundamentals/glossary and treat those terms as canonical.
